What’s up with this mysterious video downloader popping up on my PC?

I was checking on my PC's performance while running VRChat using Task Manager, and I came across a process named "A Feature Rich Command Line." That got me worried! I also noticed something called "ytdlp," which I learned is a video downloader. I don't remember installing it, but I did recently download an app called "Oyasumi VR" that helps with sleeping in VR. I'm curious if it was bundled with Oyasumi or if it's something more concerning. Any thoughts?

Yeah, ytdlp is actually a YouTube downloader, and it's pretty popular! It's designed to download videos from YouTube and other sites. So, it’s not malware or anything; it’s a legitimate program. If you installed Oyasumi VR, it's possible it came packaged with it. It’s always good to double-check what you’re downloading!

Thanks for clarifying! I guessed it might be from Oyasumi since that's the only new thing I installed.

I get how that can feel a bit alarming! yt-dlp can show up out of nowhere, especially if it was bundled in an app. If you didn’t knowingly install it, it’s worth keeping an eye on your downloaded software to see if it pops up again. It might be running in the background when you’re not looking, which is why it seemed to disappear!

Totally! I’ll watch out for it. I just want to make sure nothing sketchy is happening.
