Hey everyone! I've been a fan of Claude for a while, and I recently subscribed to Claude Code Max. I'm really looking for any tips or tricks you might have for maximizing my workflow with Claude Code, especially since I'm still getting the hang of it. Any advice that could help me or other newcomers would be awesome! Thanks!

When using Claude Code to brainstorm or outline ideas, have it create a quick .md file for your next steps and clear old conversations. You don't want leftover chats from previous ideas cluttering your workflow. Plus, make sure to tell it not to assume—sometimes it jumps to conclusions that aren't accurate. Keep it focused by redirecting it when necessary!

Couldn’t agree more! I’ve noticed it starts assuming things if you let it run too long.

Absolutely, that’s a brilliant way to keep things organized!

Use the 'magic word' ultrathink when you get stuck. It can really push you through those tough spots. Also, start by outlining your project thoroughly before giving any actual coding instructions. The more detail you provide, the better results you get!

Planning is key! I recommend writing out a detailed document about your project before feeding it to Claude. Then, after it generates an outline, have it ask if it needs clarification before moving forward. Lastly, always break your project into phases, so it’s manageable and easy to track progress.

One great tip is to download an SSH app on your phone so you can keep working even when you're on the toilet! It sounds silly, but it can be a lifesaver during those coding breaks. Just set it up beforehand and you're set!

LOL, totally! I just set up Termius again for that exact reason. Now I know what I’m doing during my breaks!

I had the same thought! Nothing like mixing coding with a bathroom break.

Make sure to compact your conversation often, especially when you’re in the thick of it. Also, don’t hesitate to interrupt it if things don’t feel right; it usually comes back with a better answer! And remember, Claude might not always get everything perfect on the first go, so some critical nudges can help steer it right.

Great tip on compaction! I find it helps a ton.

Totally hear you on the interruptions—sometimes it’s necessary!
