I'm considering switching from Windows to Linux and would love to hear which distros you all prefer and why. What experiences have you had with different ones?

I've been trying out different distros in virtual machines, and I've found that Linux Mint is great for Windows users. It's user-friendly, and it runs games from Steam pretty smoothly. If you want something that just works without much hassle, Linux Mint Debian is a solid choice – I haven’t had any issues with it in years! But be warned, if you've got an Nvidia GPU, you might face some driver woes on Linux. Grab a distro like SteamOS if gaming is your main focus!
For me, Debian is the way to go. It’s just solid and works like a charm for my needs. I also occasionally dabble in Arch and Fedora – but I found Debian easier to get used to without all the extra hurdles.
I had a good experience jumping into Debian too! Fedora might be challenging for some, but if you're willing to learn a bit, you can manage it.
I'm using Linux Mint on my old MacBook Pro, and it’s breathed new life into my machine. I'll never go back to Windows!
I've tried a ton of distros, but Zorin OS really stands out to me. It’s an Ubuntu variant designed for those migrating from Windows or Mac, and it offers one of the smoothest out-of-the-box experiences. The app support is fantastic, making the transition easy!
Yeah, I can understand the struggle with Nvidia. SteamOS is definitely worth checking out for gamers!
