When Is It Necessary to Buy a Heatsink for My PC?

I'm working on building my second PC and I'm trying to get a better grasp on all the components. I recently turned it on, and, looking at the parts that I gathered myself, I realized that the B850 Tomahawk motherboard I'm planning to buy already has built-in heatsinks. I'm curious: under what circumstances would I need to purchase an additional heatsink? Also, if I do need one, what are some good options for my setup?

You typically don’t need to buy an extra heatsink if your motherboard already has them, which it seems like yours does. Those built-in heatsinks are generally sufficient for keeping your SSD cool, so unless you're really pushing it with heavy workloads, you're probably good!

Thanks! Just to clarify, does this mean I won't be able to attach another heatsink to this motherboard, or is that just not necessary?
