Hey everyone! I'm trying to get a sense of when I might need to upgrade my gaming PC. Here are my specs:
- Ryzen 7 9700x
- Powercolor RX7900 GRE
- 32GB DDR5 6400M/t
- Corsair 750W PSU
Right now, I'm using a 144Hz TV at 1440p. I've overclocked both the CPU and GPU, and most of the games I play—like Fortnite, Detroit Become Human, Robocop, and Assassin's Creed—run at or above 144 FPS. I'm just curious about everyone's thoughts on when it might be time to think about an upgrade.

Just play your games and enjoy what you've got! Worry about upgrading when it becomes necessary, like when your games start lagging or not meeting your expectations.
Honestly, you should think about upgrading when your current setup can't keep up with your gaming demands. If you start craving smoother performance or want to play more demanding games, then it’s time to look for upgrades.
For me, I usually wait until there's a significant upgrade option available, like more powerful CPUs or GPUs from AMD or Nvidia. I wouldn't bother with a minor upgrade unless it's a major leap in performance. My last setup was good for about two years, so that’s my personal gauge!
There's really no precise answer for that. It varies from person to person based on what games you play and how they run on your system. If your FPS starts dropping below where you're comfortable, that might be your cue to consider an upgrade.
I get that! It's more about personal experience and satisfaction with your gaming. I just want to hear what others have experienced.
Totally agree. I’d wait for at least a 100% performance increase before swapping out my CPU or GPU.
