I'm looking to build a new work machine urgently because my current setup runs Windows 10 and they want upgrades done soon. I've been checking Microcenter multiple times daily for over a month, but they're always out of stock. Amazon has had a few units available sporadically, but they're priced around $900, which is way over my budget. Anyone know if there are any updates or insider information on when the 9950x3d shipments will come in and if MSRP will be reasonable?

Yeah, I used to work at a tech store, and honestly, sometimes the hype around the X3D isn't really necessary for productivity. In fact, the regular models can actually perform better in some workloads due to higher clock speeds.
If it's for work, you might not even need the X3D chip. A regular 9950x or even an i7-14900K would do just fine for most tasks. I’ve seen some decent bundle deals for those at Microcenter lately.
Honestly, none of us can predict that better than a crystal ball! But I get your struggle with the constant refreshing. Just keep an eye on the usual sources; sometimes stock updates can happen when you least expect it.
