I'm in Canada and I'm eyeing the XFX Swift OC Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB, which is currently priced at 529.99 CAD. I want to know when GPUs typically go on sale. Do they go on discount on major sales events like Black Friday, or is it more unpredictable? Also, when they do go on sale, what kind of discounts should I expect, like 10% or 20% off? I live near Canada Computers and Best Buy, so would that affect my chances of getting a better deal? Thanks!

If you can afford the GPU now, I’d say go for it rather than waiting. Sales aren’t usually substantial, so you might not save much, if at all. If you’re close to having the funds, consider building your PC with integrated graphics for now and getting the GPU later if there’s a good sale.
Check Canada Computers regularly; they’re running some back-to-school sales right now. Major sales events like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Boxing Day are typically the best times for GPU discounts. Just keep an eye on those, and since you're close to the stores, you'll save on shipping too! Good luck with your search!
The ideal time to buy is when you can actually afford the GPU you want at a price that feels right. The market has been pretty tough on pricing lately, and often sales happen when new product lines come out. So, if you find the card you want available at a reasonable price, seize the opportunity!
Sometimes, if a major game is releasing, AMD might run a promotion where you get a free game with specific GPU purchases. Just a couple of years ago, I got an MSI RX 6750XT under $500 along with a free game, so keep an eye out for such deals while shopping!
You might see slight discounts around Cyber Monday or Boxing Day, but they’re usually not significant. It’s pretty much a gamble when it comes to prices, so I’d recommend buying when you find a decent deal if you have the funds ready.
I'm almost ready to buy too! I was thinking of doing the same—building my PC first and using the integrated graphics while I wait for the GPU.
