Hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my GPU as I'm planning to switch my monitor to a 1440p resolution and use Linux as my operating system. From my research, I've noticed that AMD GPUs tend to perform better on Linux compared to Windows, plus they often come with more VRAM than NVIDIA cards and are usually more affordable. Currently, I have a RTX 4060 Ti with 8GB of VRAM. Given my setup, I'm wondering which AMD GPU would be the best upgrade for 1440p gaming. Thanks for your insights!

You should consider going for the 7900 XT, especially if you're aiming for 16GB of VRAM. It should handle 1440p quite well. I’ve heard rumors about AMD potentially releasing new cards like the 9080 or 9090 series, but I wouldn’t hold my breath just yet. In the meantime, that 7900 XT is a solid choice!

What about the 7800 XT? Would that work too?
