Which AMD X3D CPU Should I Choose for Gaming and CAD Work?

I recently built my first AM5 PC using an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, but I'm feeling it's not quite up to the task, especially with my RX 9070XT graphics card. I do about 75% gaming and the rest is CAD and CAM work. Newegg has a trade-in option that's quite appealing right now. I'm looking at the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D for $499 and the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D for $509 (after a rebate). There's only a $10 difference, but I hear that while the R9 looks better on paper, it may not perform as well in gaming. Can anyone help clarify this?

Honestly, the 7600X is a decent CPU, but if you're primarily gaming, the 9850X3D is the better option. It's optimized for gaming with all 8 cores leveraging the 3D V-cache, whereas the 9900X3D has a split architecture with only some cores benefiting from the cache. For gaming, the 9850X3D just performs better overall.

Also, if you're gaming at 1440p, the 7600X still holds up fine, but I'd suggest upgrading your monitor too if you're looking for better performance.
