Which Cable Should I Use for My Monitor: VGA to HDMI or DVI to HDMI?

I'm trying to connect my LG Flatron E2041 monitor, which only has a D-SUB (VGA) port, to my PlayStation that uses HDMI. I noticed that some versions of the Flatron E2041 come with both D-SUB and DVI-D ports, but mine only has D-SUB. I've heard people mention that DVI to HDMI might be better, but I'm not sure if it would even connect to the D-SUB port. Additionally, I've been looking at VGA to HDMI cables, but those seem too bulky for my monitor's port. Can I make this setup work?

It sounds like you don't have many options here. If your monitor is older with just the D-SUB port, you're pretty limited. Just go for an HDMI to VGA adapter; that's the way to connect it to your PlayStation.

You'll want to use an HDMI to VGA adapter, not the other way around. D-SUB refers to VGA, so a VGA to HDMI cable won't work with your monitor's port. Plus, since your monitor is a bit older and only has the D-SUB port, that's your only option for connecting it to the PlayStation.
