I'm trying to decide between the Noctua NH-D15 G2 and the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE for my Ryzen 7 9800X3D build. I've seen options that range from about $40 to $170, and honestly, I'm confused about what would really be the best choice. Can anyone help me figure this out?

I'm a big fan of Noctua products, but if you're looking for value, the Thermalright cooler offers fantastic performance for the price. I always recommend it to friends who are air cooling their CPUs!
I think the Thermalright Peerless Assassin is a perfect fit for the 9800X3D. My setup runs cool, peaking at around 70C, even in a cramped case with a less powerful NH-D15S. You'll be happy with it!
Honestly, the Phantom Spirit is the best budget cooler right now. It feels almost too good to be true, but trust me, it's legit!
I’m using the Thermalright PS120SE with my 9800X3D right now and it works great. Highly recommend it!
Keep in mind, the Peerless Assassin uses 120mm fans while the NH-D15 G2 uses 140mm, which impacts cooling power. Noctua is known for its quality and support, so if you're okay with spending a bit more for their outstanding service and noise performance, it can be worth it. But for comparable cooling, there are cheaper options out there!
Yeah, but Noctua isn't the top choice anymore. There are other brands catching up fast.
