I'm building my first PC and I'm trying to decide between two setups: the Ryzen 7 7800x3d paired with a 9070xt, or the Ryzen 5 7600x3d with a 9060xt. Is the extra cost for the Ryzen 7 and 9070xt justified, or would I be better off with the Ryzen 5 and 9060xt? I'm also open to considering other combinations if there are better options out there. Thanks for your help!

If you're looking to play games at ultra settings on a 1440p monitor, the 7600x with the 9070xt would be a solid choice too. It'll do a great job handling most modern games.
I'd go with the 7800X3D and 9070xt if you can swing it. The 9070xt has powerful performance, but if it's priced too high, the regular 9070 might be a good alternative. Also, make sure to consider a 16GB VRAM version of the 9060xt if you opt for that setup.
I don't have a monitor yet, but I'm shopping around. I'll be using the PC for both gaming and computational physics research, so I want to ensure it can handle both tasks well.
