Which CPU is Best for a New Build: AMD or Intel?

I'm trying to set up a new PC for my girlfriend as a birthday gift. A local seller has listed the Ultra 7 270K Plus for about $350. Is that a good deal, or should I look for something like the AMD 7800X3D or 9800X3D instead, given that their original price is around $289-$299? I'll be reusing her RAM (DDR5 SODIMM) from her existing setup, and I already have a 4070 Ti Super GPU lined up. I'm just looking to finalize the CPU for the base platform, and I'm open to other options as she doesn't play very demanding games. Any advice would be appreciated!

The Ultra 7 270K is a solid choice for productivity tasks, while the Ryzen 7800X3D and 9800X3D excel in gaming. If she's just playing casual games and not doing heavy work, all three might be overkill for her needs. You could even consider cheaper CPUs like the Ryzen 5 7500F or 7600 series, which should handle her use just fine. Just make sure you have a good plan for using that SODIMM RAM since it requires adapters to fit into a desktop motherboard, and it might lead to some issues with compatibility or performance if not done right.

I'm leaning towards going with a less expensive option too, maybe just a standard Ryzen X model with a B850/B650 motherboard. But I worry the 4070 Ti Super might bottleneck with those. If I'm building a new PC, I want something decent enough for her 3D AutoCAD work too. Regarding the SODIMM adapter, I know it's tricky, but I don't have any spare desktop DIMMs. Her current rig uses SODIMM, so I feel stuck with that.
