I'm trying to build a budget gaming PC for under $450 and I'm torn between the Intel i5 12400F and the AMD Ryzen 5 5600. Considering performance and price, which CPU would be the better choice?

It really comes down to pricing in your area. Generally, these CPUs are pretty comparable with the 5600 being slightly faster. However, when I bought my i5 12400F a while back, it was around $120, while the 5600 was about $160. Also, finding a good AM4 motherboard at a reasonable price can be tricky. The 12400F paired with an Asrock B760M board was a solid choice for me. Just keep in mind, while the AM4 platform gives you upgrade options like the 5800X3D, Intel has some great future upgrades as well. I faced some issues with higher-end Intel CPUs but found the 14600KF gives solid performance without the voltage problems. Hope this helps you decide!
Thanks for the insight! In Vietnam, the prices are pretty much the same, but it looks like the Intel combo is still cheaper. Maybe I'll lean towards Intel, especially with the better upgrade options.
