Which CPU Should I Choose for My Upgrade?

I'm gearing up to upgrade my CPU, motherboard, and RAM soon and I'm a bit torn on which CPU to go for. Right now, I see the Ryzen 7600 priced at €179 and the 9600X at €199. I know the 9600X didn't get the best reviews when it came out, but for just a €20 difference, is it worth picking that one? My budget for the CPU is around €200-250. Currently, I have a Ryzen 3600 paired with an NVIDIA 3070 Ti, so I'm curious if I should go for the 9600X or keep looking for other options.

The 9600X is definitely the go-to choice for mid-range builds right now. It's sort of well-regarded lately, especially if you’re only looking at a €20 price difference. I’d go for that one!

Thanks! I saw some not-so-great reviews from the release but wanted to check in on current opinions since I'm not always up-to-date on hardware news.

I've built with a 9600X and I'm really happy with its performance. Just keep in mind, you might be bottlenecking your 3070 Ti a bit; that depends on your gaming resolution and usage. Playing at 1440p should be fine, though!

Bottlenecking? What does that mean? I mostly play at 1440p and use my rig for work too, so having more processing power would definitely be beneficial.

Honestly, if it's just an extra €20 for the 9600X, just grab it. The price is reasonable for the performance you get. It'll be a nice upgrade for your setup!
