Which CPU Should I Choose for My Upgrade?

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU because I suspect I'm experiencing some bottleneck issues while gaming at 1080p. When I multitask, like having YouTube or Twitch open on my second monitor, I notice my games suffer from frame dips and feel sluggish. I recently ran a bottleneck test online and found my setup has significant bottleneck issues at 1080p (41.1%), less at 1440p (26%), and none at 4K. Since I currently don't have 4K or 1440p monitors, 1080p is where I'm playing. I've narrowed my options down to two CPUs: the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. What should I choose? Here are my specs for reference: GPU: Gigabyte 4070 Super Eagle OC, Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 Pro WiFi, Current CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X, Power Supply: 600W 80 Plus Gold, RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4, and Case: Hyte Y60.

Bottleneck calculators aren't always accurate. Can you check the refresh rate of your 1080p monitor? That might give more clarity on what's happening. Also, take a look at the MHz of your RAM in task manager for a full picture.

It's worth checking your RAM and monitor specs before deciding. But if you're running a 240Hz monitor with 3600MHz RAM, that's a solid setup! Still, it sounds like you might be running background apps affecting your game performance.
