Which CPU Should I Choose for Upgrading from a Ryzen 5 3600?

I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3600 with a Radeon 6700 (non-XT) and 64GB of RAM. I'm looking to upgrade my CPU to something better within the AM4 platform due to the crazy prices of RAM these days. I'm trying to decide between the Ryzen 7 5800XT for CAD 300 and the Ryzen 9 5950X for CAD 400. Unfortunately, I can't find any cheaper X3D CPUs - the lowest I've seen is over CAD 500, which is more than I want to spend right now. I mainly use my PC for gaming and 3D work, and I plan to get a 5070 Ti in the future and eventually upgrade to AM6 when it releases. I'd love to hear any suggestions or advice! Thanks!

I think the 5700X hits the sweet spot for performance and price. It has more cores than the 5600X but doesn't run as hot as the 5800X, making it a solid choice for both gaming and 3D work. If you can find it for a good price, I’d say go for it!

The 5800XT is cheaper for me than the 5700X—should I just go for that instead?

I recently bought a 5700X3D from AliExpress, and it turned out to be an excellent deal—cost me a third less than retail! If you're considering a high-performance CPU and come across a deal like that, I highly recommend it. Just be cautious with international shipping and sellers.

If you read my post, I mentioned I can't find one for under CAD 550.
