I'm planning to build my PC after my exams, but I'm stuck deciding between the Ryzen 5 7500F and the Ryzen 5 8400F. The 8400F is about $50 cheaper here in the UAE, and with my tight budget of $800 to $900, every dollar counts. I'm looking to do some light video editing and play games at 1080p or occasionally 1440p, including titles like Jedi Survivor, FH5, and Minecraft. I can't order from AliExpress because my parents are uncomfortable with that, so I'm hoping for some guidance on which CPU would be the better choice given the inflated prices here.

For gaming, the Ryzen 5 7500F is generally the better option. It offers superior performance, especially with its larger L3 cache. The 8400F might actually fall short compared to some older CPUs like the 5600 due to this cache difference. If gaming is your main focus, you’ll want the 7500F.
While the Ryzen 5 7500F is more powerful for both gaming and editing, if your budget is really tight, you could go with the 8400F. It's still a decent choice for the price. Just keep in mind that if you're not planning to upgrade for a few years, that extra investment in the 7500F might be worthwhile in the long run.
Got it! I’ll have to think about how much that price difference matters for the next few years.
Thanks for the insight! That definitely helps.
