Hey everyone! I'm really not an avid gamer—mostly I play titles like Valorant, Dota, and CS2. I've never even bought a AAA game because I just can't justify spending $50 on one, haha! I'm looking to play these games at 2K resolution with at least 240 FPS. I'm confident my setup can handle it, but I want to make sure I'm future-proof in case I dive into more demanding games. So, should I go for the Ryzen 7700X or push for the 7800X3D? I've seen a comparison video featuring a 4070 Super with different CPUs, and the FPS didn't vary much—I'm wondering if it's because the GPU was holding things back. Also, the 4070 Super seems similar to my RTX 5070. What do you all think?

For sure go with the 7800X3D! You're playing CPU-heavy games, and even a 7800X3D paired with a 4060 would outperform a 7700X with your 5070 in those types of games.
If your budget allows, definitely grab the 7800X3D. It feels like FPS at 2K will be more reliant on the CPU than the GPU in your case. Just my two cents, though!
Honestly, you might need the 7800X3D to even get close to your FPS goal (though you might still fall short). Be prepared to see Dota drop below 100 FPS sometimes.
I saw this video of someone hitting 500 average FPS at 2K with a 7600, so I was wondering if I’m missing something. Thanks for the info!
