Which GPU Should I Choose: 7900 XTX or 9070 XT?

I'm considering a downgrade from my RTX 4090 and need some advice on choosing between the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and the Radeon RX 9070 XT. Here are my specs:

- **CPU**: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- **Monitor**: Samsung G9 57-inch DUHD, 120Hz (can go up to 240Hz)
- **Current GPU**: RTX 4090

I primarily play AAA titles on Steam and don't need to run everything at ultra settings. I'm open to using FSR or DLSS for upscaling, but I want to avoid visuals that look too poor. My target is to maintain around 100 FPS.

Pricing in South Korea is as follows:
- **7900 XTX**: ~$631.86
- **9070 XT**: ~$710 (Correction from earlier price).

Should I prioritize the VRAM capacity of the 7900 XTX or go for the newer architecture with the 9070 XT? Which card do you think is the better choice?

If the 7900 XTX is only about $86 more than the 9070 XT, that seems like the better choice to me. Plus, it has better performance overall, especially for the future with upscaling options like XESS. Just keep in mind that either will be quite a downgrade from your 4090.

Yeah, the price difference does make the 7900 XTX more appealing, but I also need to consider how much power I'll actually need.

Just a heads-up, while the 4090 is the strongest card, the 7900 XTX is still a solid upgrade if you want longevity. Although if you're comfortable with a tighter budget, the 9070 XT can still get you decent performance, especially with upscaling, just make sure you aren't expecting too much.
