I'm making the leap into PC gaming after many years on console, and I'm looking for advice on choosing a graphics card for 1440p gaming. I primarily enjoy story-driven single-player games like Skyrim, Fallout, The Witcher, and Red Dead Redemption. I don't care much about 4k gaming, and I'm only doing some light multitasking, like browsing and watching Netflix. I recently purchased an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D and I'm excited to build my setup. I'm stuck between getting an RTX 5070 or an RX 9070XT—both are within my budget, with the 5070 priced at $570 and the 9070XT at $620. Which one would you recommend based on my gaming preferences, and why?

Upgraded from a 3070 to the 5070Ti and I'm loving it. The performance has been fantastic and it should be a reliable choice for years to come!
If you can get the RX 9070XT for just $50 more than the 5070, it seems like a no-brainer to go for the 9070XT, especially considering it's got 16GB of VRAM!
I've had great luck with the 5070 for 1440p gaming. The performance-to-price ratio is quite good, plus DLSS & Framegen features are really nice to have.
The 5070Ti is a solid choice for its extra VRAM and value right now. It's particularly good for 1440p gaming and might future-proof you a bit more. Try to find a good deal, maybe on eBay or something!
I'd go for the 9070XT. It's performance is comparable to the 5070Ti, plus it has 16GB of memory compared to the 5070's 12GB. If you're planning to keep this GPU for a while, that extra memory will definitely come in handy.
