Which GPU Should I Choose for 1440p Gaming: RTX 5060 8GB or RX 9060 XT 8GB?

I'm trying to decide between the RTX 5060 with 8GB of VRAM and the RX 9060 XT also with 8GB. In my country, the 9060 costs about €30 more, and going for the 16GB version of the 9060 would put me €100 over my budget, which I'm hesitant about. My goal is to play games at 1440p, but I'm still on the fence about which option is better for this resolution.

For 1440p gaming, I'd really recommend spending the extra €100 for the 16GB version of the 9060 XT. Many AAA games these days can use more than 8GB of VRAM, especially at higher resolutions, so the 16GB could save you from potential issues down the line.

Absolutely, steer clear of the 8GB cards if you can help it! The 100 euros extra for the 16GB variant is worth it to avoid running out of VRAM too quickly. Both the 9060 XT 16GB and the 5060 Ti are around the same price range and would serve you better in the long run.

Definitely go for the 16GB option if you can! I have a 5060 Ti with 16GB and it handles ultra-wide 1440p beautifully, especially with DLSS. The 8GB cards just won't cut it for future-proofing. If you can stretch your budget, consider the 9070 or 5070 as well, depending on how much more they cost.

If the 9060 is only €30 more, I’d choose the 5060 for its better upscaling, but the performance difference might make it a tough call. Just think about what games you'll be playing and how long you want to keep the card.

I'm mostly into AAA titles, so I want something that can last a bit longer.
