Which GPU Should I Choose for My First PC Build?

Hey everyone! I'm new to building PCs and am doing my homework before I buy a graphics card. I've been eyeing the 9070XT, but I'm considering if I should go for the 5070Ti instead. I mainly play FPS games like Apex Legends and Call of Duty, and I occasionally enjoy single-player titles. My main priority is getting a high frame rate over graphic quality. I also know that NVIDIA has features like DLSS and better ray tracing capabilities. I'd love to hear your thoughts on which GPU would be better for me and if there are any factors I should consider when making my choice. Thanks in advance for your help!

I'd recommend the 9070XT, unless ray tracing is super important for you. DLSS isn't a big advantage over FSR4 anymore, and frame generation has its drawbacks in competitive games. What’s your budget and location?

But remember, DLSS is more widely used compared to FSR4, so that could be a factor.

Good to know FSR4 is solid! I'm in the US, and I don't have a huge budget since I'm funding this by donating plasma. Waiting for prime days to snag a good deal.

From what I’ve seen, if the 9070XT is significantly cheaper—around €100 or $100 less—it's definitely worth considering. Just keep an eye on those prices!

I’ll definitely watch the prices! Thanks for the tip!

Make sure to check out Newegg's open box deals; I snagged a 6800 XT for just $430. It came well-packaged, and you can find great prices if you're careful. Just stick to US sellers to avoid scams!

Those RX6800 series cards are a great value, especially with 16 GB of VRAM. I’ve got a 6800XT, and it handles 1440p beautifully!

For competitive gaming, you probably don’t want to rely on frame generation since it can add latency and might not accurately represent the gameplay. Just something to keep in mind!

That’s good to know! It definitely makes the choice simpler for me. Thanks!

Can you disable frame generation if you want?

I faced the same dilemma, and in my case, the price made the decision easy. The 9070XT was about €150 cheaper, and I don’t regret going with it at all!

Sounds like a solid choice. I’m seeing a similar price range here in the US for the 9070XT. I think I'm leaning that way!
