I'm considering buying a GPU and I've found options for both the RTX 3070 at $250 and the RX 6700 XT OC at $220. I'm curious which one would be the better purchase. Any insights on their performance, especially regarding gaming ?

If you're looking for raw performance without the bells and whistles, the RX 6700 XT does perform slightly better in some cases but lacks features like ray tracing and DLSS, which can be a game changer. For ray tracing fans, 3070 is the way to go!
The RTX 3070 is often seen as the better option overall, mainly because it supports DLSS, which can enhance performance in many games. While the RX 6700 XT has more VRAM at 12 GB, it lacks some of the features that give the 3070 an edge for future-proofing, especially if you're considering gaming at 2K resolution.
I recently got the RX 6700 XT and I kinda regret not getting the 3070. It's frustrating being limited to FSR instead of using DLSS. If you're running games at 1080p, you'd definitely want that extra boost from DLSS!
I think for the price difference, the 6700 XT gives you a bit more VRAM, which might be beneficial if you plan on playing games that are more demanding soon. But if you're after features and future compatibility, the 3070 is definitely the stronger choice.

Yeah, and the VRAM on the 3070 can be an issue at 1080p. I’ve found it struggles in some newer titles. 8 GB can feel limiting right now.
