I'm trying to decide between the RX 9070XT and the RTX 4070 Super for my new build. I've heard that RTX cards are generally better, especially for ray tracing, but I'm not sure how significant the differences really are. Can someone break down the pros and cons of each option?

When it comes to GPUs, you're looking at two different brands with AMD's RX and NVIDIA's RTX. Typically, AMD cards like the RX 9070XT are cheaper and give you more frames per dollar, which is great if you're on a budget. They also tend to have more VRAM, which can be a plus. But if ray tracing and AI features are important to you, NVIDIA's RTX cards might be the way to go. So, the real question is: do you prioritize ray tracing and AI frame generation? If so, go NVIDIA. If you want better performance for your resolution, AMD is likely your best bet. Personally, I favor AMD for those buttery smooth frame rates!

Just a heads up, the 9070XT actually outperforms the 4070 Super in ray tracing by a fair amount. Honestly, I don't see why anyone would pick the 4070 Super over the 9070XT.

Also keep in mind the scaling tech! FSR is good for AMD, but it doesn’t quite reach the level of NVIDIA's DLSS. Just something to think about depending on your gaming setup.

Look, the 9070XT and 4070 Super aren't even in the same performance league. The 9070XT is about 30% faster and comes with 16GB of VRAM. Anyone saying they’re comparable just isn't informed. If you're looking for gaming performance, the 9070XT is the clear choice! Plus, you can use something like Optiscaler to get FSR4 in games without it natively supporting it.
