I'm trying to decide between the RTX 3060, 4060, and 5060 for my first gaming PC build. I've heard all the debates about the 4060 and 5060, but they're the most affordable options where I live, thanks to insane price hikes on AMD cards and a sketchy used market. Here are the cheapest prices I found:
- ASUS GeForce Dual RTX 3060 (12 GB): €289.99
- MSI GeForce RTX 4060 X2: €314.98
- MSI GeForce RTX 5060 X2: €291.99
I'm puzzled—why is the 5060 even cheaper than the 4060? Am I missing something? Given my setup, what's the best choice?

The 5060 has the best performance for rasterization among the three and is newer, so even though it might not have as much VRAM, it's still a solid choice. Just check the VRAM requirements for the games you'll be playing; if they tend to use more than 8GB, then you might want to rethink your options. But if your games are fine with that, the 5060 could serve you well!
The price difference could be because the 5060 has less demand since it might be the 8GB model. Ideally, you should aim for a card with 10GB VRAM or more if you want to future-proof your build. So your options are to keep saving for a more powerful 12GB or 16GB card, or consider switching to an AMD card if that's feasible.
Honestly, the 3060 and 4060 are getting outdated. I’d go for the 5060 since it's the most recent of the three and offers better performance overall. Plus, it’s priced well!
If you can stretch your budget, consider the 5060 Ti with 16GB VRAM. It’ll keep you set for several years without needing an upgrade anytime soon.

Thanks, that makes sense! I'm mostly into less demanding games, so I might be okay with the 5060.
