Hey everyone! I'm new to building PCs and could really use some help. I've always been a console gamer, but now I've got the itch to build my own gaming PC. I wanted to upgrade from my PS5 and I'm willing to spend around 2-2.5k AUD on this build, but I want to make sure it performs way better than a console. I've already picked the 7700X CPU, but I'm stuck on choosing a GPU. Should I go for the 5060 Ti with 16GB or the 9060 with 16GB? I'm aiming for 1440p gaming at above 60fps or 1080p with the highest FPS. I'll be playing games like RDR2, Cyberpunk, and the latest military shooters, so your advice on which GPU would really help me make my decision!

The 5060 Ti actually stacks up pretty well against the PS5 Pro, so if you’re looking for similar or better performance, that’s a solid pick.
Honestly, I think both GPUs are great at their price points. You can’t go wrong with either choice!
Have you considered the 9700X with a 9070 XT instead? Here’s a build I put together that fits your budget and performs great. You might want to check it out for an alternative configuration!
Both the 5060 Ti and the 9060 will absolutely outperform your PS5. If I had to choose, I’d say go for the 5060 Ti. It’s a solid card that should handle most modern games smoothly at the resolutions you want.
I’m really impressed with the performance of the 5060 Ti at 3440x1440. I’ve been using it for games like MSFS and Cyberpunk, and it runs like a dream. You might want to give it a shot!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely look into the 9700X and see how it compares!
