Hey folks! I'm building a new PC and I'm stuck deciding between the RTX 5070 and the RTX 4070 Super. The 5070 is currently available for a lower price, but I've come across a lot of people recommending the 4070 Super, claiming that the 5070 isn't worth it. I've read that the 5070 can perform slightly better in some cases. I'm particularly interested in gaming performance, especially since I'm upgrading from a 2080 Super. I could really use some advice before I make my decision!

I’d say choose the 5070 if it's the same price or cheaper than the 4070 Super. It generally performs better in gaming scenarios, especially at 4K. Just keep an eye on the specific games you want to play since performance can vary.
Also, don't forget you might be able to snag Doom: The Dark Ages for free with the 5070!
If you can swing it, consider the 4070 Ti. It beats the 5070 outright and offers superior performance in many games! However, I get it if the price range is a bit steep right now. Keep looking for deals!
I wish I could afford the 4070 Ti, but they’re all way out of my budget. I'm looking at the 5070 and 4070 Super, which are around $740-$770.
The 4070 Super has more CUDA cores, which can give it an edge in certain tasks. That said, the 5070 has newer tech and better handling of DLSS 4, which is a big deal. Consider how much you're into ray tracing and DLSS when making your choice!
Honestly, if the 5070 is cheaper, you're probably better off going with it. I recently upgraded from a 2080 Super too, and the 5070 has been a great choice for gaming.
The RTX 5070 usually performs a bit better overall, especially in newer titles where it shows an edge due to faster memory. However, at 1440p, the performance difference is minimal—a mere 1% in most cases when compared to the 4070 Super.
So if I’m playing at 1440p, it seems like I can just go with whichever card is cheaper, right?
That's a good point! Since I already have Game Pass, the free game isn't a huge deal for me, but it's definitely a bonus for anyone who doesn't.
