Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building my new PC and have picked out most of the components already. Here's what I have:
1. Phantek Nv5 Mk ll case
2. GIGABYTE B850 Eagle WIFI6E motherboard
3. Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler
4. AMD RYZEN 7 9700X CPU
5. PATRIOT VIPER EXTREME 5 BLACK 2x16 6400MHz CL 32 RAM
6. PATRIOT 1TB VP4300 LITE NVME PCIe 4.0 SSD
7. MSI MAG A850GL power supply
The only thing left is the graphics card, and I'm debating between the RTX 5070 Ti and the RX 9070 XT. I want to play games at 1440p on max settings, do some streaming, use Blender, and dabble in programming. Normally, I'd lean towards the 5070 Ti, but there's a significant price gap here—about $250-$300. The 5070 Ti runs around $1200 with tax, while the 9070 XT is about $880-$900. Given these prices, which would you go for?

I just got the 5070 Ti and I'm really happy with it. But considering the price difference, the 9070 XT seems like a smarter choice for you, especially at that $300 saving.
I have the 5070 Ti, and while it's a great card, I think you’d benefit more from the RX 9070 XT with that kind of price disparity. It’s totally worth it!
Look for deals locally; sometimes retailers have the 5070 Ti at MSRP. I got lucky and found mine for about $810 after tax!
Honestly, considering the price difference, go for the RX 9070 XT. The performance is nearly on par with the 5070 Ti in most games, and the savings are substantial plus. The Adrenaline app for AMD is easy to use, and it'll keep everything updated for you.
If you're doing a lot of Blender work, you might want to stick with Nvidia since it generally performs better with those applications. But if it's mainly for gaming, the 9070 XT is totally adequate.
For pure gaming, I’d definitely say get the RX 9070 XT. They’re pretty comparable performance-wise, but Nvidia does have the edge for Blender. Just do some more research based on how much Blender you plan to use.
Exactly! If Blender is a big part of your workflow, just weigh how critical that performance is compared to gaming.
5070 Ti all the way! But at that price point, the 9070 XT can't be overlooked.

Yeah, I agree with that. Nvidia handles Blender much better, so if that's a priority, you might have to factor that into your decision.
