I'm heading to college this fall to study biology and I need a reliable computer. I've been getting mixed opinions from friends and family about whether I should invest in a Mac or go for a Dell. Are Macs really worth the higher price, or would a Dell be a better choice? I'm also looking for recommendations for a laptop with a decent-sized screen. Any advice would be super helpful!

Honestly, either option should work for you! Just avoid cheap Chromebooks. Macs are popular on college campuses and if you have an iPhone, the integration is really handy. However, most jobs outside creative fields use PCs. When my daughter was in bio-chem, she used a PC without issues.
As someone who manages tech for students, I strongly suggest getting a PC. While Macs can be powerful, they often don’t integrate well with Windows-based systems, which most businesses use. This can make it tricky for jobs after graduation. Plus, many academic software programs run better on Windows, especially for general studies in a field like biology.
Good point! I hadn't thought about the compatibility issues with jobs. Definitely something to keep in mind.
