Which is better for gaming: 300Hz FHD or 240Hz QHD?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade from my current 144Hz FHD monitor and I'm torn between two options: one is a 300Hz FHD monitor and the other is a 240Hz QHD monitor. Both are Fast IPS, G-Sync compatible, with a 1ms GTG response time. The QHD monitor is 27 inches while the FHD is 24.5 inches, but I don't think size will make much of a difference. I'll be using the monitor for both productivity and gaming, particularly for competitive games like CS2 and LoL, along with some single-player titles. My hardware can easily handle the framerates needed for these games. So I'm wondering, should I prioritize the jump from 240Hz to 300Hz or the upgrade from FHD to QHD? Thanks in advance for your input!

I'd definitely pick the QHD option without a second thought. The difference in refresh rates between 240Hz and 300Hz isn't as noticeable as the bump in resolution. Just keep in mind that moving to QHD could lower your FPS due to the increased pixel count. If you can maintain good frame rates, it's totally worth it.

Honestly, anything above 240Hz seems a bit overkill. If you're consistently getting 240 FPS in CS2 at 1440p, I’d say go for the 240Hz QHD monitor instead. The resolution upgrade will make a bigger visual difference for your gaming and productivity overall.

True, but remember that while your FPS is high at FHD, moving to QHD can cut that number. If you're getting around 310 FPS now, you might drop to around 170 FPS at QHD. But if you can still maintain close to 240 FPS in QHD, then it could be worth the upgrade! Just weigh your gaming experience with the trade-off in performance.
