Hey everyone! I'm an advanced Windows user with a good grasp of package managers and open source tools, and I'm looking to finally transition to Linux. I've been considering Linux Mint for a while now, but I'm also really drawn to some cool setups I've seen on YouTube, especially those featuring Arch Linux. I want to dual boot Linux alongside Windows without risking my Windows installation, as I still need it for some apps. I'm mainly a computer science student, so I web browse, code, listen to music, and take notes. My priorities are speed (better than Windows 11), power efficiency, customization, and something that works smoothly with minimal issues. Currently, I'm narrowing it down to Arch (like Cachy or Endeavour) and Fedora. Any recommendations?

Fedora is solid and gets updates quickly, while OpenSUSE Tumbleweed is also a great option if you want something that stays current. Both are less DIY compared to Arch, so you can always switch later if you feel like it.
Can you share what you like about NixOS? I'm just curious!
