I'm looking to fully switch to a Linux distribution since Windows 10 is losing support soon. I've tried Mint before, but I had issues with gaming performance; games that ran smoothly on Windows were laggy on Mint, which was a deal breaker despite the other features I liked. Now, I've been hearing mixed things about other distros like Endeavor and Ubuntu, but there's so much information out there. I also heard Arch is a good option, but I'm not sure I'm ready for that level of complexity. My PC has a Ryzen 5 5600 GT, 16 GB of RAM, and uses integrated graphics with an A320M HDV motherboard. I'm not sure if my CPU might influence performance or my distro choice, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'd recommend trying out a few different distros to see what feels right for you. Just don't go too wild with it since as a newbie, you might want to get comfortable first before hopping around. A few good options for gaming could be Fedora or Pop!_OS, as they tend to handle games better than Mint did for me.
Check out the distro selection page from the Linux community! It has tons of great information to help you decide. Just remember to back up your data and maybe test things in a VM if you can. Oh, and read up on commands before you hit Enter!
When I made the switch to Linux, Mint was my first choice too, but I ran into gaming issues. After switching to Fedora, most of those problems went away. It's a bit more complex than Mint, but if you go with the KDE desktop environment, it feels pretty intuitive. Give it a try!
Your choice really depends on how much time you're willing to invest in learning Linux. If you're looking for something low maintenance, go for Pop!_OS or Kubuntu. But if you're keen on learning and don’t mind some upkeep, you might enjoy Endeavor or even Arch. My personal faves for gaming are Cachy and Nobara.
