Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for a monitor to use for some digital art projects on the side. I want to make sure the colors are decent without breaking the bank. I'm pretty clueless about monitor specs, so I could use some help deciding between two options:

1. ASUS ProArt Display PA278QV 27" ($289.99 CAD) - Check it out [here](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B088BC5HMM/)
2. AOC 27 Inch QHD Gaming Monitor ($219.99 CAD) - Here's the link [here](https://www.amazon.ca/AOC-Q27G41ZE-2560x1440-Compatible-Zero-Bright-Dot/dp/B0FF5HXGJK)

Which one is better for digital art?

If you’re not using the monitor professionally, either one could work, but I'd suggest looking into a mini LED monitor in your budget for HDR capabilities. That could give you a nice upgrade!

Got it, thanks for the tip!

Modern IPS monitors really deliver on color accuracy, even the budget gaming ones tend to have good specs. Most gaming monitors over $200 will offer colors that aren’t terrible. I’d lean towards the AOC since it’s cheaper, but the ASUS is also an excellent choice if you prefer something more artsy. Either way, you should be fine!

Thank you so much for the insights!

I think the AOC might have some unnecessary features for art, like HDR and a high refresh rate that you won’t really need. The ASUS is tailored for artists and might be a better choice if you want accurate colors and solid performance without the gaming hype. You should also consider a touch display for a more natural drawing experience, but those can get pricey!

Thanks for the advice! I currently use a screenless tablet, but I’ll keep that touch display option in mind.
