Which Motherboard Should I Choose for My Upgrade?

I'm looking to upgrade my PC and need help selecting a new motherboard. My current setup includes a Ryzen 5 5500 processor, 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM (which I plan to buy soon), an RTX 2080 8 GB GPU, and a 650 W power supply. I will also have a single M.2 SSD and don't need Wi-Fi capabilities. I prefer a micro-ATX form factor, but am open to standard ATX as I'll be upgrading my case. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Don't underestimate ASRock boards, especially the older B550 ones. I've been using one with my Ryzen 5800X3D for three years, and it’s been very reliable and great value!

If you're upgrading, consider what motherboard you currently have—if it’s a B350 or B450, you might not see much performance gain with a B550 or X570. If you're starting fresh, the Asus B550-Plus AC-HES has good value for the price. You might want to check it out!

Thanks for the tip! I was starting from scratch so that's super helpful.

I really suggest the MSI B550M PRO-VDH. It enables PCIe Gen 4 for better SSD longevity and fits your micro-ATX preference. Plus, its VRMs handle the Ryzen 5 5500 well without overheating.

Thanks for the suggestion! It's cheaper than the Aorus I was considering.
