I'm making a decision between two monitor setups: one at 1440p with a refresh rate of 180Hz and the other at 1080p with a refresh rate of 240Hz. I currently have a 1080p monitor with a 144Hz refresh rate. My system includes a Ryzen 5 5800 CPU, an RTX 4070 GPU, and 32GB of RAM. I mainly play Rainbow Six Siege and a little bit of Arc Raiders. I'm looking for better frame rates, but I'm unsure which option would serve me better overall.

Ultimately, I think 1440p at 180Hz is the better option. It works well with your current setup, and while 240Hz might give you a slight edge in competitive games, visuals are just as important. You can have all the top-tier hardware, but it’s still about how well you play!
If you're chasing that extra performance, 1080p 240Hz is appealing. I have a powerful setup myself and manage to hit good FPS at 1080p. However, if you value visuals more, 1440p definitely looks better, so it’s really about what matters more to you.
I just made the switch to 1440p 180Hz recently, and the difference is huge. You’ll love the visual upgrade from 1080p. Jumping from 60Hz to 180Hz is a game changer!
Go for the 1440p 180Hz option! The sharper resolution makes everything look way nicer, and 180Hz is still plenty fast. You won’t regret it!
I’d recommend going for the 1440p at 180Hz. It's definitely going to provide a nice upgrade from your current setup. You should be able to reach the 180Hz limit in Rainbow Six Siege, but in Arc Raiders, it might be less certain. The jump in quality with 1440p is substantial, and it’s a great choice overall.
