Which PC build is the better option for my needs?

I'm trying to decide between two PC builds: one has a Ryzen 5 7600X paired with a 4070 Ti and a 27-inch 240Hz 1440p monitor, while the other features a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with a 4070 Ti Super. Both systems are very similar, but the second one comes with a 1000W PSU instead of the 650W found in the first build. The prices are $1325 for the Ryzen 5 build and $1500 for the Ryzen 7 setup. Both have 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and similar storage. I lean towards playing strategy and simulation games like Civ and CK3, and I do some programming, mostly for personal projects since my work is handled on my lab's clusters.

Don't forget that games like Civ can be CPU intensive, so yes, the CPU difference is more crucial than the GPU here. Your best bet is definitely the 7800X3D build for the price!

That price for the 7800X3D along with the Ti Super is lower than when I built mine! Prices went up a lot after the newer CPU and GPU launches, so something seems off with that pricing. Just make sure to test it before buying!

I'll definitely do that. The original listing was $2250, which is wild if it's now down to $1500.

Go for the 7800X3D build! The 650W PSU in the Ryzen 5 setup is a bit low for the GPU, but the 7800X3D is pretty efficient. Just keep an eye out for random shut-offs with that lower PSU if you pick the other one.

The 1000W PSU with the Ti Super should keep everything running smoothly!

Honestly, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the 4070 Ti Super is a much better deal. You’re getting more performance for just $175 more, and the power supply is way more capable too, which is important for future upgrades. It's a win on all fronts!

Absolutely! I'd jump on that deal for $1500, sounds like a steal.

Definitely not even a competition; the value in the 7800X3D is just too good.
