I'm trying to decide between two builds for my PC. The first option is the Ryzen 5 4600G paired with an MSI GTX 1660 Super. The second option is an Intel Core i7-8700K with an MSI RTX 2070. I play games like Minecraft, Fortnite, and GTA V, and I also need this setup for schoolwork. Which combination would you recommend?

I’d suggest going with the Ryzen 5 4600 and RTX 2070, or maybe even a 2070 Super or Ti if you can swing it. You’ll get great performance for both gaming and school tasks.

I'd personally lean towards the i7-8700K and RTX 2070. But are your systems otherwise identical? The rest of the hardware specs like memory and power supply really matter. If they're the same aside from the CPU and GPU, I would choose the Intel setup, but make sure everything else (cooling, PSU) is up to par!

The AMD Ryzen 5 4600G is generally newer and offers around 18% better performance in multi-threaded tasks compared to the Intel i7-8700K. However, for gaming, the RTX 2070 is a significant step up from the GTX 1660 Super in terms of performance. If you can afford it, I'd recommend going with the Ryzen 4600G and RTX 2070, as it balances performance and future-proofing well.
