I'm upgrading my CPU and can't decide between the Ryzen 5 7600X and the Ryzen 7 7700. I mainly play games but also want to stream sometimes and learn coding. They both seem to have similar clock speeds, so I'm leaning towards the 7600X, but I'm not sure if that's the best choice for my needs.

Consider whether you need new RAM. If you haven't bought RAM yet, you might also look into getting a 14600K for its compatibility with cheaper DDR4. If you're set on DDR5, maybe check out the 9700X for a balance between gaming and streaming, or even look at an X3D option if your budget allows.
In general, they perform similarly, but the 7700 has an edge in some games due to those extra cores. If you're focused on streaming, the 7700 is definitely the way to go!
If your GPU is around the same tier as the 5060 Ti or 9060 XT, you might not see a huge difference in performance between the two CPUs.
I'd recommend going for the 7700. It will handle streaming and coding tasks much better with its additional cores. The 7600X is just a more expensive version that doesn't quite match up on performance.
If your games or applications can utilize more cores, the Ryzen 7 7700 is a better pick. Otherwise, they're quite similar in performance.

Thanks! That's super helpful!
