I need some advice on which Ryzen 9000 series CPU would be the best budget option for my setup. My current RAM, which is Crucial by Micron, specifically requires a Ryzen series 9000 CPU for compatibility. Right now, I have a Ryzen 5 7600X, and my motherboard is an MSI PRO B650M-P Micro ATX AM5. Is the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X my best choice? Thanks in advance for your help!

It seems like there might be some confusion about your RAM compatibility. But yes, your motherboard and assumed DDR5 memory need an AM5 CPU. The Ryzen 9600X is actually a solid budget option to consider, and the Ryzen 7600X is not far off in terms of performance.
I totally get what you mean! I noticed the package you’re referring to as well, and I thought, "Why does it say that?" You don’t actually need a Ryzen 9000 series CPU; both the 7000 and 9000 series will work just fine. I paired my RAM with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and it ran without any issues. It's strange that Crucial decided to specify it like that.

That’s good news! But I’m confused, why is there a requirement label if it can run on a 7000 series too?
