Why Am I Getting a ‘No Image File Detected’ Error When Updating My BIOS?

I'm trying to update the BIOS on my motherboard, but I'm running into an issue where it says 'no image file detected' during the instant flash process. What could be going wrong? Do I really need a USB drive for this, or is there another way to perform the update?

I agree with TechSavvyGuy! Having the BIOS file on a USB is usually the best route. Some motherboards might allow you to flash directly from the hard drive, but it's less common and can lead to more issues. I'd get a USB drive just to be safe.

Thanks for the advice! I guess I'll borrow a USB then and try that.

It sounds like the BIOS update file is either missing or not properly detected by the motherboard. Usually, having a USB drive with the correct BIOS image on it is the easiest way to go. Even if some folks say they don’t need a USB, I’d recommend using one to avoid any complications.
