Why Am I Getting Low FPS on My 4070 Ti at 1440p?

I recently bought a 4070 Ti from my cousin for $200, and he assured me it would handle games at 1440p without any issues. I also upgraded my system with a 14700K CPU, DDR5 RAM, and an OLED monitor that supports up to 240fps. However, when I started playing Resident Evil 4 Remake, I noticed I'm only getting around 80-100 fps, with some areas peaking around 110 fps. Given what my cousin said about it 'crushing' games, shouldn't I be closer to 240 fps? He mentioned something about frame generation, but I can't find any option for that in the game. Am I missing something?

Have you checked out benchmark videos for the 4070 Ti? From what I've seen, 80-100 fps is pretty standard for those settings. It seems like your definition of 'crushing' might not match your cousin's.

That's a good point! My cousin was all about performance when recommending this gear.

Honestly, getting 80-110 fps at 1440p with high and ray tracing settings is pretty good. Your expectations might be a bit too high, considering the hardware. Not every game can reach the maximum fps that monitors can handle, especially with all settings maxed out.
