Why Am I Getting Lower FPS After Upgrading to a 3080?

I recently upgraded my GPU from a 2070 Super to a 3080, but I'm experiencing lower FPS in Arc Raiders, which makes no sense to me. My PC setup includes a Ryzen 7 5700X processor, 2x16GB of 3600MHz RAM, and the game is installed on an SSD. I've also upgraded to a 1050W PSU. With the same settings I used before, I got around 115-130 FPS, but now I'm only getting about 100 FPS, sometimes even dropping to 80-90 during fights. I've tried changing the settings, both low and high, and the FPS remains about the same. I've also turned DLSS off and switched between quality settings without any change. I've done a DDU and installed the latest drivers. Interestingly, in the practice range, my FPS is fine, hitting around 180 FPS. Additionally, both my GPU and CPU utilization are hovering around 50%, with GPU usage never exceeding 80%.

Those GPUs are quite similar in performance, so your issue might be CPU bottlenecking. It’s possible that the Ryzen 7 5700X isn't fully utilizing the 3080 for certain settings or scenarios. Check if there's a bottleneck elsewhere.

It’s confusing that you’re seeing lower FPS with the 3080. Just make sure that you're comparing identical settings to what you had with the 2070 Super. It could be worth looking into background processes or thermal throttling affecting your performance.

Have you checked your ray tracing and DLSS settings? It's important to make sure they're the same as before your upgrade. Sometimes, even minor configuration changes can impact performance significantly.
