Why am I not seeing any performance boost after upgrading my GPU?

Hey everyone! I recently decided to upgrade my graphics card to improve my gaming experience, especially since some of the games I've been playing like Battlefield 6 and Marathon were struggling. I upgraded from an RTX 2070 to a GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Eagle, and I also made sure to update my BIOS for re-sizable BAR which I heard would help with performance. My setup includes an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU, 16GB of RAM, and I also swapped out my PSU for a 750W 80+ Gold model. However, I haven't noticed any significant improvement in performance, even when gaming on lower settings. Does anyone have any ideas about what might be going on? Also, I've been frustrated with the Nvidia app for driver updates; it just keeps crashing and never loads properly. Any suggestions on that front too? Thanks for your help!

Honestly, if you’re looking for better performance, you might just need to upgrade your CPU as well. The 5060 Ti should handle gaming well if paired with a decent CPU, but it looks like your current setup is holding you back. You might also want to try getting drivers directly from Nvidia's website instead of using their app; that’s been helpful for a lot of people.

After manually downloading the drivers, the system stability got way better! Thanks for the tip!

It sounds like your CPU might be the bottleneck, especially with CPU-heavy games like Battlefield 6 and Dota 2. Upgrading to a Ryzen 5600X or even a 5800X could make a noticeable difference. Those games really depend on strong processing power. Also, doing some research before your next purchase could save you from issues like the PSU—I've heard mixed reviews about Azza.

That's a bit surprising since I thought my CPU was still pretty capable. I guess I need to keep up with the latest hardware trends!

Marathon is seriously demanding on the CPU too, but hopefully they'll optimize it with time.
