Why am I seeing lower FPS in games after upgrading to a new SSD?

I recently upgraded my OS drive from a Samsung PM9A1 1TB SSD to a 4TB Samsung 990 PRO SSD. While everything seems to be running smoothly for general usage, I've noticed a drop in FPS by about 10 to 15 in my games. I've reset my PC, updated the SSD firmware and all my drivers, but the issue persists. Is there something I'm missing that could be causing this FPS drop?

Have you checked which motherboard you’re using? The SSD needs to be in the right M.2 slot for optimal performance. Also, make sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date. Sometimes, background programs can hog CPU or SSD resources, so it’s worth checking that nothing's running in the background.

I’ve got an Alienware Aurora R16 too! Just to clarify, which M.2 slot is your 990 Pro in? I had to switch mine around to get better performance.
