Hey everyone, I recently built my PC and I'm experiencing some frustratingly high CPU temperatures. I have a Ryzen 9800X3D, and I'm seeing idle temps around 70°C, while most people seem to be getting around 45-50°C. My parts list is available [here](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wrsfzP), and I've shared some images of HWiNFO & Task Manager [here](https://imgur.com/a/uiENn3V). I used Arctic MX 6 thermal paste and made sure to apply a thin, even layer. I've also reseated the cooler multiple times and ensured it's tight but not overly so. Everything's running at max speed with iCUE. My room temp is usually around 25°C (78°F). I'm considering getting a new CPU cooler since I've had issues with overheating on previous builds too. Any suggestions?

Quick question, is your pump always running at a steady speed in the BIOS? Many times, they default to PWM fan settings, which just makes them ramp up when the temp gets high. You want your pump to run constantly to keep the cooling efficient.
When you applied the thermal paste, did you check that there wasn't any plastic on the AIO cold plate? You should also ensure that the thermal paste was spread evenly and that the cooler was tightened properly. If you can hear the pump running at full speed, that's a good sign. In the meantime, have you thought about undervolting your CPU? It can help bring down those high temps. There's a solid guide [right here](https://www.reddit.com/r/ryzen/comments/1gq1yu9/universal_guide_to_configuring_all_ryzen_9000/), check it out!
Sounds like a plan! Undervolting could make a noticeable difference without too much hassle. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I have it plugged into the CPU pump header, but I’ll check the BIOS settings to see if I can get it to run more consistently.
