Why are my fans so loud and my gaming performance so bad?

Hey everyone, I've been struggling with my PC's performance while gaming lately. Most of the demanding games can't seem to maintain 120 or 144 FPS even at high settings, and whenever I cap the FPS above 60, my fans go absolutely crazy loud. Specifically, in Elden Ring, I can barely keep 60 FPS even on medium graphics settings, and my fans just won't chill out. This issue seems to have worsened over time, and I honestly don't recall having these problems in the first year of owning this PC. I'm wondering if games have just become more demanding or if my system has degraded. I've cleaned the fans really well, but it hasn't helped. Here's my current setup:
- CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700F
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
- RAM: 16 GB ADATA Premier DDR4 3200

I know 16 GB is on the lower side, and I'm planning to upgrade to 32 GB soon. Do you think the RAM is bottlenecking my performance that much? My CPU and GPU seem decent for modern gaming. Also, are there any other components I might need to consider upgrading? I have a 1 TB SSD, but I'm not sure what else to check.

First, you might want to check which fans are making the most noise - is it your GPU, CPU, or just the case fans? Also, using software like FanControl to set specific fan curves can help calm them down a bit. Don't forget to monitor your temperatures with HWInfo; if your components are overheating, replacing the thermal paste on your CPU or GPU might be necessary.

Also, what latency is your RAM? If it's CL22, that could be a factor. Lower latency like CL16 generally performs better, but the overall impact might not be massive unless you're doing heavy multitasking or certain types of gaming.

Regular dusting is key! When my setup gets too loud, I know it's time to clear out the dust. Have you done that recently? But if you last cleaned it a few months ago and it didn't make a difference, it might not be the full story.

It could help to share your temperature readings too. Without knowing how hot things are running, it's hard to figure out what's actually going on. A lot of people jump to conclusions without proper monitoring.
