Why Are My Games Choppy on My New PC Build?

I've recently put together a new gaming PC, and every game I've tried has this annoying "judder" or "choppiness" when I pan the camera. Here's a rundown of my build: 9800X3D, MSI X870E AM5 Motherboard, 64GB DDR5-6000 CL30 RAM, Samsung 990 Pro 4TB M.2, and an MSI RTX 5080, all powered by a Seasonic 1200W PSU. I'm using an LG 4K OLED monitor.

I've looked into countless tweaks online for months now, but nothing seems to help. The jerky motion varies from day to day. I've tried switching out hardware like GPUs and motherboards, experimented with various cables and settings, and even installed Windows 11 multiple times. I've disabled overlays, tested different polling rates with multiple mice, and adjusted my G-Sync settings, but the problem persists. Any ideas on what else I could try? This issue is ruining my gaming experience and giving me headaches!

It’s interesting to hear you've noticed a slight improvement when you changed your mouse's polling rate. Sometimes minor tweaks can surprisingly yield better performance. I don't understand why 250Hz would feel better than 1000Hz on a new setup, but if it helps, then stick with it! Just keep experimenting with settings until you find something that works for you.

Given that you've swapped out every major component, it might be time to look beyond just hardware. Have you considered trying different wall outlets or even different rooms? Sometimes electrical issues can mess with performance unexpectedly. Also, if you haven’t tried swapping your PSU or using a UPS, that could be worth checking out!

I hear you on the frustration! It sounds like you've already dug deep into your setup, but I would suggest checking if the issue is power-related first. Also, I've read some people have had issues with certain SSDs causing performance problems. It might not seem likely, but sometimes changing the SSD can make a difference. Have you moved the PC to another location just to rule out any weird home wiring issues?
