I recently ordered a custom-built PC that was supposed to have specific parts, but I've run into some issues. First off, my GPU isn't being recognized, and that's causing me some serious frustration. On top of that, I noticed some discrepancies with the parts. The order confirmation listed an ASUS PRIME x870 motherboard, but when I checked, my system shows an ASROCK x870 Pro RS instead.
I also ordered 64 GB of DDR5 RAM, which I assumed meant 2 sticks of 32 GB each. However, I see four sticks in my setup! Task Manager shows I've got 64 GB, but I heard it's better to install two RAM sticks. And while the order mentioned a 1000W EVGA 80+ Gold power supply, I can only see an 850W label on my PSU. Honestly, my CPU and GPU match what I ordered, but it's still frustrating because of the GPU issue.
Was I scammed? I've reached out to customer support about the motherboard difference, but they keep focusing on the GPU problem. What steps should I take if this turns out to be a scam? Has anyone else encountered something similar?

It sounds like they may have substituted some parts without telling you, which isn’t cool. There might be some fine print in their terms that allows them to swap components based on availability. It’s crucial to follow up with their support and keep pushing for clarity about the motherboard. They should answer that question too!
You should download HWInfo. It’ll give you a detailed breakdown of all the parts installed in your PC, which can help clarify what exactly you have versus what you ordered. Here’s the link: https://www.hwinfo.com. That should help you with your next conversation with support.
Thanks! I’ll definitely do that.
Have you thought about just returning the PC? If it doesn’t match what you ordered, that might be the easiest route. Just make sure you check their return policy first!

I get your frustration! It's one of those things where you definitely need to have a clear answer from them. Don't hesitate to keep insisting!
