I recently bought an RTX 5080 graphics card, but I've been running into problems while playing two Vulkan games—*Schedule 1* and *Balatro*. Both games make my PC crash after a short period of play, and the only way to get it back up is to cut the power for a few minutes. I've never encountered this issue before, and I can't seem to find the cause. I've already tried reinstalling the drivers, but that didn't help.

Balatro is a lot of fun and should definitely be easy on the system. I suspect it's a driver issue since NVIDIA has released several updates specifically for the 50 series crashing problems. Make sure you've got the latest driver installed. If that doesn't do the trick, you could also try rolling back to an older driver to see if that helps—it might take some digging to find the right version, though!
It sounds like you might be dealing with overheating problems. Have you checked the temperatures of your GPU while playing? You don't want it to get too hot!
I tested it with hardware info and saw that no temperature went over 78 degrees (172 in freedom units), so I don't think overheating is the issue.
You might want to try installing a game that supports both Vulkan and DirectX—run it in Vulkan mode and see if it crashes. If it does, I recommend doing a Windows reinstall rather than chasing the issue forever. Dota 2 is free and supports both if you want to test it out.
I just tried Valheim in Vulkan, and I'll let you know if it crashes. If it does, I’ll switch to OpenGL afterwards.
I’d roll back, but the problems started right after I got the card. I’ve done everything with the drivers; it’s definitely not just that.
